Silhouette Soft – Natural Facelift

What is the Silhouette Facelift?

Traditional facelift procedures are able to restore facial symmetry and remove wrinkles and lines but many people do not want to endure the resulting scarring and the risks of surgery requiring a general anesthetic. The silhouette face lift is also referred to as the one stitch face lift and the cone thread lift. The silhouette lift is a minimally invasive technique that utilizes silhouette thread, a new type of skin suspension thread to perform a safer and less traumatic facial lift. It is especially effective at correcting sagging skin in the mid-face region and for lifting the neck. The whole procedure can take around 45 minutes and is usually done under a local anesthetic.

What is the Silhouette Lift used for?

The silhouette face lift is used for those who want to rejuvenate their facial appearance with minimal downtime and risk. The perfect candidates for a silhouette lift are those from the age of 35 onwards who are suffering with sagging skin before their time. A silhouette face lift is effective at treating the premature signs of aging such as wrinkles, sagging or asymmetric eyebrows, droopy cheeks and sagging skin to the mid and lower facial areas. The silhouette face lift is suitable for men and women, involves little or no side effects and is performed in one treatment session.

The Procedure and Cost

Small incisions are made behind the hairline where the minor scarring will be hidden and the thread gently lowered down into the skin and used to lift skin from the inside. The thread is not barbed as with earlier thread lift surgery but is instead smooth and biocompatible. The thread is held in place by dissolvable cones which sink into the skin deeper over time putting more tension on the thread and tightening the connected skin. Tissue begins to grow around the cones and the cones eventually dissolve, leaving behind the tissue which holds the lifted skin in place. A silhouette face lift can cost between £1,800 and £4,000 in the UK.

Silhouette Recovery and Results

After the silhouette procedure has been completed recovery is far shorter than with conventional surgery and most patients can resume normal light activities such as walking or sitting at a desk. Most patients, however, are back to their regular routines after around 3 days. Strenuous activities should be avoided for about a week and facial movements should be kept to a minimum for up to 3 weeks following the procedure. Immediate results can be experienced by many patients even though the results usually continue to improve over the 6 month period following surgery. This is mainly due to the growth of collagen around the threads which act as facial filler helping to fill and smooth the skin even more.
